About Us
Our office Legal Assistant, Mary Ann Tavel, is well known to clients and friends alike. We've been working together for 23 years. Mary Ann has had a variety of tasks over the years, including handling the mass of paperwork that we generate annually and keeping track of our schedule. But all of these tasks took a back seat to the care and coddling of our Senior Partner Thumper who lived with us in the office for 13 years.
Thumper passed away in 2006 and left a large space that has been difficult to close. The obituary says it all. Among other things, he was the first cat in the world to have a web page. He appeared on network television (ITN, ABC, CBS, and UPN) as well as the national news media. But most of all he was a part of our ongoing effort to minimize the emotional stress that is part of the legal system.
Our office is centrally located in a restored home in historic downtown Ventura. You will no longer find our Thumper, but you will find Mary Ann, who will gladly share our memories.
